The aim of a Backgammon game is to move your pieces around the Backgammon board and pull them off the game board quicker than your competitor who works harder to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Winning a match in Backgammon requires both strategy and luck. Just how far you can move your checkers is left to the numbers from tossing the dice, and the way you shift your checkers are determined by your overall playing strategies. Players use differing strategies in the differing parts of a game based on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Strategy
The goal of the Running Game plan is to bring all your chips into your inside board and bear them off as quickly as you could. This technique concentrates on the speed of moving your pieces with absolutely no efforts to hit or stop your competitor’s chips. The best time to use this technique is when you think you might be able to shift your own chips faster than the opponent does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the game board; 2) all your pieces have past your opponent’s checkers; or 3) your opponent does not employ the hitting or blocking plan.
The Blocking Game Technique
The main goal of the blocking tactic, by its name, is to block your competitor’s checkers, temporarily, while not worrying about shifting your chips quickly. Once you have established the blockade for your competitor’s movement with a couple of pieces, you can shift your other pieces swiftly from the board. The player will need to also have an apparent plan when to back off and shift the checkers that you used for blocking. The game gets interesting when the competitor uses the same blocking strategy.
