As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and good luck. The aim is to move your checkers carefully around the game board to your home board while at the same time your opposition moves their pieces toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With competing player pieces heading in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific tactics at specific instances. Here are the 2 final Backgammon strategies to complete your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the purpose of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to move his chips, the Priming Game plan is to completely block any movement of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get hit, or result a battered position if he ever attempts to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anyplace between point 2 and point 11 in your game board. Once you have successfully built the prime to prevent the activity of the opponent, your competitor doesn’t even get to toss the dice, and you shift your chips and roll the dice again. You’ll win the game for sure.
The Back Game Tactic
The aims of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game technique are very similar – to hinder your competitor’s positions hoping to better your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game technique utilizes alternate tactics to do that. The Back Game tactic is frequently employed when you are far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this strategy, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This tactic is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the pieces are moved is partially the result of the dice roll.
