• The Essential Facts of Backgammon Strategies – Part 1

    [ English ]

The objective of a Backgammon match is to shift your chips around the Backgammon board and get them off the board quicker than your challenger who works just as hard to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a match of Backgammon needsrequires both strategy and good luck. How far you can move your checkers is up to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and how you shift your chips are decided on by your overall playing techniques. Enthusiasts use a number of tactics in the differing parts of a match depending on your positions and opponent’s.

    The Running Game Tactic

The goal of the Running Game strategy is to entice all your checkers into your inner board and bear them off as fast as you can. This plan focuses on the speed of advancing your checkers with no efforts to hit or stop your competitor’s chips. The ideal time to use this technique is when you believe you can shift your own checkers faster than the opposition does: when 1) you have a fewer checkers on the game board; 2) all your checkers have moved beyond your competitor’s checkers; or 3) the opposing player does not employ the hitting or blocking strategy.

    The Blocking Game Technique

The main aim of the blocking tactic, by its title, is to block the competitor’s pieces, temporarily, not worrying about moving your chips rapidly. Once you have established the blockage for your competitor’s movement with a couple of checkers, you can shift your other pieces swiftly from the board. The player will need to also have a clear plan when to withdraw and move the chips that you employed for blocking. The game gets intriguing when the opposition uses the same blocking technique.
