    The aim of a Backgammon game is to shift your chips around the game board and bear them from the board faster than your competitor who works harder to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Succeeding in a round of Backgammon needsrequires both strategy and good luck. Just how far you will be able to move your checkers is up to the numbers from tossing the dice, and the way you move your pieces are determined by your overall playing tactics. Enthusiasts use differing plans in the different stages of a game dependent on your positions and opponent’s.

    The Running Game Plan

    The goal of the Running Game technique is to entice all your pieces into your home board and bear them off as quickly as you could. This technique concentrates on the speed of advancing your chips with no time spent to hit or block your opponent’s checkers. The best scenario to use this technique is when you think you might be able to move your own chips faster than the opposition does: when 1) you have a fewer checkers on the board; 2) all your pieces have moved beyond your competitor’s pieces; or 3) the opposing player does not use the hitting or blocking technique.

    The Blocking Game Plan

    The primary aim of the blocking strategy, by its title, is to stop your competitor’s checkers, temporarily, while not worrying about moving your checkers quickly. After you’ve created the blockage for the opponent’s movement with a couple of checkers, you can shift your other pieces quickly from the game board. You will need to also have a good plan when to withdraw and shift the chips that you utilized for blocking. The game gets interesting when the competitor uses the same blocking strategy.
