The goal of a Backgammon match is to move your pieces around the Backgammon board and get those pieces off the board faster than your opponent who works just as hard to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a match of Backgammon requires both strategy and luck. Just how far you can shift your checkers is up to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and just how you move your pieces are decided on by your overall gambling strategies. Players use a few techniques in the different parts of a match dependent on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Tactic
The aim of the Running Game plan is to entice all your checkers into your inside board and get them off as quickly as you can. This tactic focuses on the speed of moving your checkers with no efforts to hit or block your opponent’s checkers. The best time to employ this tactic is when you believe you might be able to shift your own chips quicker than your opponent does: when 1) you have a fewer chips on the game board; 2) all your pieces have moved beyond your opponent’s chips; or 3) the opposing player doesn’t use the hitting or blocking technique.
The Blocking Game Tactic
The main goal of the blocking strategy, by the title, is to stop your competitor’s pieces, temporarily, not fretting about moving your chips rapidly. As soon as you have created the barrier for your opponent’s movement with a few chips, you can shift your other pieces rapidly from the board. You should also have an apparent plan when to extract and shift the pieces that you employed for the blockade. The game gets interesting when your opposition utilizes the same blocking strategy.
